Parliament at a Glance



July 23, 2014. Busy busy busy day today. Got my visa applications in for two upcoming trips this fall, and had a longish meeting with safety and security representatives in the afternoon. Flying home in the evening. This is Parliament Hill from the taxi - the changing of the guard was on, something I've never seen despite years of living in Ottawa, and while it wouldn't have been nice to stop and smell the roses, time was my enemy (p.s. also had a longish visit to Ottawa's Queensway).

Worked through the morning, drove home at lunch (much easier!) and spent the afternoon working from home. March 2, 2024. The frozen surface of Dow's lake with a sheen of meltwater on it. This was a view as I took an 11 km ride on my new bicycle today. First ride of the year, first ride on the new bike.
